Inserters - Models 304 and 305

Used by the Pharmaceutical and Vitamin industry to insert literature into bottles. The Model 304 and 305 inserters offer superior reliability over the vacuum pick off style of inserters. Although vacuum can be used very successfully with thinner and more pliable products, our extensive experience in the field led us to develop a knife and gate feeder for multi-fold leaflets. This style of feeding mechanism experiences fewer misfeeds when presented with minor variations in the leaflets and allows for much simpler and faster change over.

The product bottles are accurately positioned by a timing screw drive. The timing screw assembly is conveyor mounted and fully adjustable to run both round and space saver bottles. Change between different bottle sizes is simple and quick requiring no tools and minimal adjustment.

Leaflets are mechanically inserted into the neck of the bottles. There is only one easy adjustment for handling variations in paper or leaflet thickness. Hoppers can be sized for most standard leaflet sizes.  Models 304 and 305 are now available with adjustable hoppers.

The Model 305 incorporates a barcode scanning system. The barcode scanning system consist of:  

• Three scan heads based on a rotating mirror technique, visible red laser diode source, dual photo-diode detector.
• Operator interface panel consisting of a data keypad and touch screen display.
• Built in power supply

If no code or wrong code is detected, the machine will stop before inserting the leaflet into the bottle.

*The misfeed detectors requires the presence of cotton in the bottle. Through the use of an ultra-sonic sensor, the presence of an insert can be detected. Any bottles missing inserts are detected and removed from the conveyor.

• All fabricated parts are made of stainless steel or anodized aluminum. All hardware is stainless steel.

• All controls, valves regulators and switches are provided.

• The feeders are freestanding units interfaced with the customer's conveyor. Feed screw, spacer wheel and miss feed detectors are conveyor mounted.
