Used by the Pharmaceutical industry to apply literature onto the caps of bottles, the Model 401 and 405 outserters offer superior reliability over the vacuum pick off style of outserters. Although vacuum can be used very successfully with thinner and more pliable products, our extensive experience in the field led us to develop a knife and gate feeder for multi-fold leaflets. This style of feeding mechanism experiences fewer misfeeds when presented with minor variations in the leaflets and allows for much simpler and faster change over.

The product bottles are accurately positioned by a timing screw drive. The timing screw assembly is conveyor mounted and fully adjustable to run both round and space saver bottles. Change between different bottle sizes is simple and quick requiring no tools and minimal adjustment.

Each outserter is equipped with a Nordson ProBlue 4 hot melt applicator, complete with a 4 foot heated hose, H201 gun, Teflon lined tank and all required controls. Due to the inherent accuracy of a mechanical system, leaflet placement on the caps is +/- 1/16 inch. There is only one easy adjustment for handling variations in paper or leaflet thickness. Hoppers can be sized for all standard leaflet sizes.  Models 401 and 405 are now available with adjustable hoppers.

The Model 405 incorporates a barcode scanning system. The barcode scanning system consist of:
  • Three scan heads based on a rotating mirror technique, visible red laser diode source, dual photo-diode detector.
  • Operator interface panel consisting of a data keypad and touch screen display.
  • Built in power supply

If no code or wrong code is detected, the machine will stop before inserting the leaflet into the bottle.

Through a series of photoelectric sensors, this system checks the presence of the verified outsert on the bottle cap as the bottle exits the machine. Any bottle lacking an outsert is removed from the conveyor.

  • All fabricated parts are made of stainless steel or anodized aluminum. All hardware is stainless steel.
